#Positive Psychology and a “Strengths-Based” Approach

The mentoring framework of the program draws directly from the field of Positive Psychology and the work of Christopher Peterson and Martin Seligman.

Players take the Strengths Survey from the VIA Institute on Character to identify their signature, lesser, and middle strengths as a snapshot of how they see themselves at that moment. From there they create their character with strengths and virtues that mirror either their own or those of the person they want to become.

Each game session provides players with opportunities to practice those strengths they want to develop in the game universe through their characters. Their characters can practice setting short and long term goals and, between sessions players are encouraged to do the same in the real world.
